Korda has recorded that you can get the same grip with a 1oz Grippa as you can with a 2oz Swivel Pear lead meaning that you can get away with a smaller lead to do the same job. This is an advantage when fishing for barbel and chub on the rivers.

Also, a lighter lead makes a smaller splash, so we like using them for casting to gently sloping island margins where a round lead can roll down.
